When does the first cohort run?
The first cohort runs for four weeks, from 30 November to 28 December 2026. Session days, times and time zone are confirmed and shared before you decide to enrol.
Who is the program for?
High-school students aged 14 and over, and university students who are not in medical school. It suits anyone, particularly international students, who is interested in medicine, biomedical sciences, the brain or related healthcare careers and wants genuine exposure before committing to a path.
I am at university but not in medical school. Is this for me?
Yes. The program is open to university students in any subject, including science, health and non-science degrees. Week 4 covers how application routes work, including routes into medicine for students who are already at university. You do not need a science background.
Is the program safe for students under 18?
We take safeguarding seriously. Participants must be 14 or older. Sessions are hosted by Medquara on Zoom, are group sessions and are recorded. Team members and guest speakers do not contact students privately. Students under 18 register with a parent or guardian’s knowledge. Read the full Safeguarding Policy.
Is prior programming experience required?
No. The program is designed for complete beginners. Everything needed for the research sessions is introduced step by step.
Will I work with real patient data?
Students work with openly available, de-identified educational brain-activity datasets intended for teaching and research training. This is an educational research exercise: students do not diagnose patients or make clinical judgements.
Can Medquara guarantee medical-school admission?
No. Medquara does not guarantee admission to medical school. The program is designed to help students understand the process, explore their options and prepare thoughtfully.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. You can request a refund within 7 days of purchase. A 10% refund fee applies, which helps cover costs we cannot recover, such as payment-processing fees. If Medquara cancels a cohort, you receive a full refund with no fee. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for details.
How long is the program and what is the fee?
The flagship program runs for four weeks in live, interactive sessions. The early-bird price is $189 USD per student, and the regular price is $249 USD. You can buy now through our secure Stripe checkout. Registering your interest is free and takes no payment.
What do I need to take part?
A computer (Windows, macOS or Linux) with a reliable internet connection, and a willingness to try things. The free software for Week 2 is set up together, with guidance.
Does registering my interest commit me to anything?
No. Registering means you will receive cohort dates, the full schedule and next steps. There is no payment and no obligation to enrol.
Is the certificate an accredited qualification?
No. Students who complete the program and present at the showcase receive a Medquara Certificate of Completion. It recognises participation and the research project, and it is not an accredited qualification.
Which countries do the application sessions cover?
Week 4 covers general pathway information for the United Kingdom, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, Europe and the UAE, along with other pathways. The information is general and educational, and requirements change, so always confirm details with the institution.
Is Medquara affiliated with any university or medical school?
No. Medquara is independent and is not affiliated with any university or medical school. It collaborates with the International Neuroscience Research Consortium (INRC). Other institutions and countries mentioned on the site are examples only and are not partners or endorsers.
